GE Aerospace has appointed Daniel Laakso as Chief Information Officer for Edison Works, the company’s advanced technology division focused on secure innovation and operational excellence in support of national defense.

Laakso leads the digital technology strategy for GE Aerospace–Edison Works, overseeing the implementation of enterprise systems and collaborating with government and security stakeholders to maintain compliance and mission readiness.

A seasoned military leader, Laakso brings over two decades of experience from the U.S. Army, where he most recently served as Professor of Military Science at the University of Cincinnati. Throughout his career, he held several key IT and operations leadership positions, including Chief Information Officer and Chief of Operations at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

He holds a Master of Science in Management Information Systems from the University of Cincinnati’s Carl H. Lindner College of Business, a Master of Science in Military Security Policy and Strategy from the U.S. Naval War College, and a Bachelor of Science in Poultry Science from Texas A&M University.
