The U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) is examining how AI could be used to process data collected by its forces, according to a special notice that also seeks industry input on capabilities such as facial recognition.
In a Request For Information (RFI), SOCOM said it aims to further explore how AI could analyze data drawn from biometrics, documents, open-source intelligence, and communications exploitation.
“Solution must be able to detect, identify, and process faces in real-time, seamlessly integrating with current and legacy identity intelligence databases and systems. Solution should support diverse camera resolutions and processing environments, from mobile devices to stationary high-resolution cameras,” the RFI states.
Other areas of interest include DNA profiling, AI/ML analytics, and end-to-end sensitive site exploitation across mobile, planning, and post-mission environments.
