Mani Iyer, Vanguard Chief AI and Technology Officer

Vanguard has appointed Mani Iyer as Chief AI and Technology Officer. In this role, he will help lead efforts focused on engineering, AI, and the application of data across the enterprise.

Iyer joins Vanguard from PayPal, where he most recently served as Senior Vice President, Global Head of Infrastructure, Data and AI Technology and Developer Platforms. He brings more than 20 years of technology leadership experience, including roles at PayPal, Wells Fargo, and JPMorgan Chase, with expertise leading large-scale technology, infrastructure, and data organizations.

Announcing the appointment in a LinkedIn post, Nitin Tandon, Managing Director and Global Chief Information Officer at Vanguard, highlighted the company’s focus on integrating AI more deeply into its technology strategy and operations.

“The next phase of transformation is the convergence of engineering and AI—where intelligence is built directly into the platforms, products, and workflows we create, not added on later. To accelerate this, I’m excited to welcome Mani Iyer as our Chief AI and Technology Officer to lead this effort,” Tandon said.
