Santander México welcomes Alejandro Zarate as Chief Data & Artificial Intelligence Officer (CDAIO) and Executive Director. Zarate leads the bank’s enterprise data and AI strategy, including the development of AI platforms, data governance frameworks, machine learning capabilities, and generative AI initiatives. His responsibilities span applications across risk, customer experience, operations, fraud prevention, and digital banking.

Prior to joining Santander México, Zarate served as Managing Director and Global Head of Data Strategy & AI Innovation at Marsh, where he led global initiatives across enterprise data strategy, AI product development, machine learning platforms, and generative AI applications.

In addition to his industry role, Zarate serves as Adjunct Faculty at Columbia University, teaching graduate-level courses on data strategy, artificial intelligence, and technology innovation.
