Global pharmaceuticals and diagnostics major Roche has tapped Ramesh Durvasula as Chief Data Officer. Durvasula will lead Roche’s data strategy across the organization.
He joins Roche from Eli Lilly and Company, where he served as Senior Vice President of R&D Technology, and previously held the position of Vice President and Information Officer for Research Labs.
“Roche has a long-standing history of scientific and technical innovation, and I am eager to contribute to that legacy. From medicines to diagnostics and digital health, Roche has an incredible potential to improve the health and quality of life for billions of people. Data is the catalyst to convert that potential into progress; I am thrilled to drive that strategy and continue my mission of uniting science with technology to find better medicines,” Durvasula wrote on LinkedIn.
Prior to Eli Lilly, Durvasula held roles at Bristol-Myers Squibb, including Executive Director and Head of Discovery IT and Automation, and Director of Informatics for Chemistry, Screening, and Preclinical Sciences. He also worked at Tripos, Inc. as Senior Director of Applied Science and Senior Consultant, supporting enterprise-scale R&D informatics projects for pharmaceutical and biotech clients.
Durvasula has also served as a Board Member of the 16 Tech Community Corporation since 2020.
