Dennis Hancock, Pfizer Chief Information Officer and Executive Vice President
Pfizer has promoted Dennis Hancock to Chief Information Officer and Executive Vice President, expanding his responsibilities to lead the company’s enterprise-wide technology, digital, and artificial intelligence strategy.
Hancock brings more than three decades of experience with Pfizer, having held a series of leadership positions across technology, digital innovation, commercial operations, and research-related functions. In his new role, he oversees the strategic use of technology and AI across the organization, supporting efforts that span drug discovery and development, manufacturing, commercialization, and stakeholder engagement.
Prior to becoming CIO, Hancock served as Senior Vice President, Digital – Enterprise Products, Learning and Development, and AI Fluency. He also founded Health Answers by Pfizer, a generative AI-powered platform designed to provide consumers with health and wellness information. Since its launch, the platform has earned a Webby People’s Choice Award, PM360’s Product Launch of the Year recognition, and recognition from Fast Company in 2025.
Earlier in his career, Hancock led Pfizer’s Digital Health business, where he helped shape the company’s artificial intelligence strategy and oversaw analytics and data initiatives. His tenure has also included senior leadership roles focused on customer experience, commercial enablement, digital solutions, emerging technologies, and global commercial operations.
Hancock joined Pfizer in 1995 and has advanced through a wide range of leadership positions over the course of his 31-year career with the company. Before joining Pfizer, he worked as a consultant with Productivity Point International.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland and serves as a member of World 50 while advising Osage Ventures and University Partners.
