MSCI Names Dinesh Gupta Chief Data Officer and Global Head of Operations

Dinesh Gupta, MSCI Chief Data Officer and Global Head of Operations

Financial data and analytics provider MSCI Inc. has named Dinesh Gupta as Chief Data Officer and Global Head of Operations. Gupta joins the firm from Goldman Sachs, where he led initiatives focused on AI and digitization. Based in New York, he will report to Henry Fernandez, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

In this position, Gupta will lead MSCI’s global data organization, with responsibility for enterprise-wide data governance and maintaining the accuracy and reliability of the firm’s data platforms. He will also guide the development of a comprehensive data strategy aligned with MSCI’s business priorities and regulatory requirements, while overseeing global data engineering and operations.
Gupta brings more than 30 years of experience in financial services, with a focus on data engineering and AI innovation. At Goldman Sachs, he was a Partner and led teams responsible for developing AI platforms and machine learning capabilities across a range of applications. He also oversaw firmwide digitization initiatives supporting several Goldman businesses, including Investment Management, Consumer, Asset Management, and Private Wealth Management.
