Ashwin Sinha, Macquarie Bank Chief Data, Digital and AI Officer
Macquarie Bank has appointed Ashwin Sinha to a new, expanded role of Chief Data, Digital and AI Officer as part of its continued focus on harnessing the power of artificial intelligence and data to deliver more personalised digital banking experiences to its more than two million Australian customers.
Ashwin has been central to defining and implementing Macquarie Bank’s data and AI strategy since joining in 2019 as Chief Data and AI Officer. This successful strategy has helped Macquarie grow rapidly to become Australia’s fifth largest bank, utilising data and AI to create banking solutions that put its customers at the centre.
In his expanded role, Ashwin will oversee how learnings from data and AI can be further integrated into the design and delivery of Macquarie’s leading digital banking experiences. These efforts will enable the continued evolution of functionality while providing an even greater level of personalisation and responsiveness for customers.
Greg Ward, Head of Banking and Financial Services at Macquarie Group, said: “Data gives AI context, and AI gives data purpose. When used effectively together, we know they can transform digital experiences from static interfaces into intelligent and personalised services that evolve over time and anticipate customer needs. That’s the journey we’ve been on in recent years, and I know Ashwin’s vision and deep experience will help us further accelerate our efforts as we look to the future.”
