(US and Canada) Lockheed Martin has announced Maria Demaree as its new Senior Vice President of Enterprise Business and Digital Transformation and Chief Information Officer. In this role, Demaree will oversee digital and business transformation efforts and lead the corporation’s technological advancements. She will report to Chief Operating Officer Frank St. John.

Demaree, a veteran leader with over 34 years of experience at Lockheed Martin, transitions to this position from her role as Vice President and General Manager of the National Security Space (NSS) line of business. At NSS, she managed a $6.6 billion portfolio spanning 250 defense and intelligence community programs and led a technical workforce exceeding 8,000 employees.

Her leadership in the national security space sector has been marked by her expertise in emerging technologies, such as Combined Joint All-Domain Command and Control (CJADC2), autonomous space systems, and software-defined satellite architectures. She has also championed the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning to enhance data processing for defense missions.

Beyond her technical expertise, Demaree has been a staunch advocate for workforce development, promoting initiatives to attract and retain top talent in classified environments. She has also been a driving force behind Lockheed Martin’s diversity and inclusion efforts.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Demaree contributes to various organizations, serving on the boards of Zeta Associates, the Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA), the National Space Security Association (NSSA), and the Colorado Chamber of Commerce.

Her achievements have garnered numerous accolades, including the Suzanne Jenniches Upward Mobility APEX Award from the Society of Women Engineers and recognition in Executive Mosaic’s Wash100 Award and FedScoop’s Top Women in Tech. She has also been honored by Via Satellite Magazine for her impact on the aerospace industry.

Demaree holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Pennsylvania State University and a master’s degree in systems engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. As she steps into her new role, she succeeds Yvonne Hodge, who is retiring.
