Humana has appointed Bhagyesh Phanse as Senior Vice President and Chief Data and Analytics Officer. In this role, he will lead the company’s enterprise data and analytics strategy, with responsibility for advancing technology modernization efforts and enabling the responsible use of data at scale.

Announcing the appointment on LinkedIn, Humana said Phanse’s leadership will support the company’s continued investment in data-driven innovation aimed at improving health outcomes.

Phanse brings nearly 20 years of experience building and leading enterprise data, analytics, and governance organizations. He joins Humana from Starbucks, where he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Data and Analytics Officer, leading global data and analytics initiatives. 

His previous experience includes leadership roles focused on consumer growth and personalization strategies at CVS Health, as well as data science and marketing transformation at Macy’s Inc.

An executive leader in artificial intelligence and enterprise data strategy, Phanse advocates for a human-centric approach to AI and has led organizations focused on deploying analytics to drive growth while promoting responsible data practices. He also holds a seat on the CDO Magazine Global Board, reflecting his contributions to the data and analytics field.

He holds a Master of Engineering degree from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Mumbai.
