Kathy Jobes, Cook Children’s Health Care System Chief Information Security Officer
Cook Children’s Health Care System, a not-for-profit pediatric health care organization, has named Kathy Jobes as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), effective January 26. In this role, she will report to incoming Chief Digital and Information Officer Teresa Tonthat.
Jobes brings over 25 years of experience in health care cybersecurity, with a focus on data governance and risk management. She has also authored comprehensive guides on health care privacy and is known for her human-centric approach to security, emphasizing that a culture of safety is built by people as much as by technology.
“We are delighted to welcome Kathy Jobes to our leadership team,” said Jonathan Nedrelow, M.D., Chief Medical Officer. “Kathy’s extensive background in data governance and her unique, human-centric philosophy make her the ideal person to safeguard our digital landscape. She understands that in a healthcare setting, cybersecurity is a vital extension of our commitment to patient safety. Her arrival marks a significant step forward in ensuring that our technology remains a secure foundation for the exceptional care we provide every day.”
“I am honored to join a system where the ‘Promise’ is at the heart of everything,” Jobes said. “Cybersecurity in health care is ultimately about protecting our patients and their families, and I look forward to working with this team to ensure our digital environment is as safe and supportive as our clinical care.”
