Citi has appointed Brian Saluzzo as Chief Information Officer, where he will help lead the firm’s technology organization and support ongoing efforts to optimize technology capabilities and leverage AI across the business.

Saluzzo joins Citi from Google, where he most recently served as Vice President of Core Developer Engineering and Product Management. Prior to that, he held leadership roles across engineering and product management functions at Google.

Earlier in his career, Saluzzo spent nearly nine years at American Express in several senior technology leadership positions, including Technology Chief Operating Officer and EVP and Unit CIO for Merchant and Network Services. He also held technology infrastructure leadership roles at Goldman Sachs.

Citigroup’s Head of Technology and Business Enablement, Tim Ryan, shared in a LinkedIn post that Saluzzo brings “deep expertise in building and scaling enterprise technology that helps organizations operate smarter and more securely.” Ryan added that Saluzzo joins Citi at a time when the firm is continuing to “optimize technology and leverage AI across the organization to deliver safe, secure, and best-in-class solutions for clients.”
