CEC Entertainment, a leader in family entertainment and dining with its Chuck E. Cheese, and Peter Piper Pizza brands, announced the promotion of Nathan Hunstable to Vice President, Information Technology and Chief Information Officer (CIO), effective February 2, 2026.
Hunstable most recently served as CEC Entertainment’s Chief Information and Security Officer (CISO) and Vice President of IT Infrastructure, where he oversaw cybersecurity, network operations, and IT infrastructure. In that role, he strengthened the company’s cybersecurity posture and supported innovation and technology initiatives across the organization.
“Nathan has done an excellent job elevating our cybersecurity efforts and contributing greatly to other innovation and technology projects,” said Scott Drake, CEO of CEC Entertainment. “We’re excited for the next chapter of innovation and technology leadership under Nathan’s direction.”
Hunstable brings more than two decades of IT leadership experience across the family entertainment and cinema exhibition industries. Prior to joining CEC Entertainment in 2024, he served as Chief Technology Officer at Cinergy Entertainment, leading the IT organization and spearheading guest-facing digital initiatives, including a mobile app, subscription, and kiosk innovations.
Hunstable holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University–Commerce and a master’s degree in Cybersecurity Law from Texas A&M University School of Law. He succeeds Jay Spears, who is stepping down after five years as VP and CIO.
During his tenure, Spears helped lead CEC Entertainment’s digital brand transformation, advanced data and analytics capabilities, expanded loyalty and CRM initiatives, and supported new off-premise ordering and delivery options.
